The Rest of the Story...
In September of 1999 a core group of about 30 adults and children began meeting for two months on Sunday mornings at the Courtyard Marriott in North Scottsdale. The majority of the group came from Mesa First Assembly with their blessing and support to plant a new church in the fast-growing community of North Scottsdale. After much prayer, preparation and advertising to the community, Desert Vista began holding Sunday morning services at Sonoran Sky Elementary School in November of 1999. As the church grew, it later moved to Desert Canyon Middle School and then onto the present location on North Hayden Road in the Scottsdale Airpark.
Since its inception, Desert Vista has aimed to present a fresh view of God to our community. Simply stated, our desire is to focus on God as He reveals Himself in the Bible and invite people to experience Him personally. That ongoing experience, we believe, progressively shapes our lives into the image of Jesus
Christ and compels us to serve others.
Desert Vista is committed to communicating God’s Word, the Bible, in creative and compelling ways because people matter to God. So we strive to meet them in their comfort zone, with messages that deal with their everyday challenges, hopes and heartbreaks. And in ways they can relate to—through movies, books, music and drama.
If you haven’t experienced Desert Vista for yourself, we hope to see you soon…
Some people ask, so we include it here: Our mission, vision, and values. Also foundational to Desert Vista are our core beliefs.
